BCCJ is hiring a new Executive Director [Learn More]

BCCJ Community:

Fall brings a fresh start to the BCCJ program year, and we have news to share.  Todd Fry has decided to return to his passion of leading our programs, and BCCJ is currently conducting a search for an Executive Director.

Thanks to all of you, BCCJ has developed great strength over recent years.  Our new classes of InIt and LeadBoston are engaged and dynamic.  Even in this down economy, the LeadBoston class is our largest ever, and InIt has successfully grown from the summer retreat to a program lasting all year.  With the growth of the Business Network and Alumni Network, BCCJ is strengthening socially responsible leadership on many levels across our region.

In order to build on this momentum and keep BCCJ strong for the future, the Board is identifying a new Executive Director who can focus on organizational development, finances, and strategy.   Having served as Executive Director for three years, Todd has worked with our  staff to bring great strength to our programs and engage many new organizations and individuals in our mission.  Please join me in thanking Todd and building on his commitment to the long-term strength of BCCJ.

I am chairing the search committee for this process.  Many thanks to alumni who have already stepped forward with interest.  We welcome other candidates, and are aiming to have the role filled as soon as possible for a start in January.  You are welcome to contact me directly and to review the search document

In addition, I want to thank Deborah Johnson (LB '06) for her commitment and leadership of our youth programs.  She has returned to a legal career after almost two years on the BCCJ staff.  We are glad that she continues to support the new InIt class and remain engaged with us.  We are also fortunate that Ruben "Ocan" Ortiz has stepped up to become our new Youth Programs Manager.  Questions about InIt can go to him: .  We look forward to adding to BCCJ's youth staff in the new year and continuing InIt's important growth.

Many thanks for your continued support and involvement with BCCJ.  Fellow alumni - I look forward to seeing you at Homecoming on October 22nd!

Sincerely,
Maureen Alphonse Charles, LB '97
